As the Seneca Niagara Gaming Corporation grows entertainment options in Western New York, it has added new gaming areas, upgraded air quality, and energy efficiency. National Grid is recognizing the Seneca Niagara Gaming Corporation with the Green Manufacturing Award for completing a multi-million dollar energy efficiency project. It resulted in significant reductions in energy usage, while enhancing the guest’s experience.

More specifically, all guest rooms, corridors, gaming floors, and retail spaces were re-lamped with energy saving LED lamps. Over 8,000 lamps were replaced and more. The project resulted in a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (Co2) of nearly 1,700 metric tons annually, which is the equivalent to burning 190,000 gallons of gas, or planting 45,000 seedling trees. The HVAC equipment in the Event Center, as well as the East casino, was upgraded to optimize efficiency. National Grid incentives were awarded in excess of $525,000 to assist in these projects, to promote environmental stewardship, and result in energy conservation.
