February Storytellers share tales at Aquarium

Looking for something for the kids to do in February? How about bringing them to the Aquarium, making yourself comfortable (and warm) as you and the kids listen to a story, or two.

Beginning Feb. 1st, each storyteller will share a tale or two in their own special way. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.

Storytelling will begin with Annemarie Jason, an annual Aquarium visitor, who literally pulls her tales out of her “story hat.” Her stories involve music, action, puppets and rhymes. She and the other tellers of tales will appear at 11:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. each Saturday.

Christina Brown from the Community Music School in Buffalo will be here on February 8th. This day will feature music, movement and sing along.  Jamie Rowitsch also from the Community Music School will be on hand February 15th to share her storytelling with the children.

The final story date is Feb. 22nd when The Wondermakers, a traveling troupe, perform Story Theater, fables and folktales.

All the storytellers will be in the second level Community Room. Aquarium members are free and regular admission rates will be in effect for non-members; adults, $10; $6.50 for children and free for 2 and under. No reservations are needed. For more information, call 285-3575, Ext. 206.
