Acquest Hospitality LLC currently holds a 40 year lease with New York State Department of Parks and plans to renovate and convert a two (2) story brick +/- 60,000 square foot military barracks, a one (1) story theater, and a three (3) story Commandant’s House into a first class hotel at Fort Niagara. ESD $400,000
City of Lockport Harrison Place Manufacturing Project
The City of Lockport will assist in the expansion of Trek, Inc. Trek Inc., has designed and manufactured electronic instruments for its customers since 1968. HCR $516,000
City of Lockport Restoration of Two of the Historic Flight of the Five Locks
The City of Lockport will restore two of the historic Flight of the Five locks. DOS $100,000
City of Niagara Falls Community Development Department Downtown
Niagara Falls Stabilization Project
This project aims to revitalize the downtown mixed-use commercial district and adjacent residential neighborhood, to attract young adults by offering to assist with the re-payment of student loans. The City of Niagara Falls estimates 20 young professionals will move into the targeted Third Street Commercial District or Park Place Historic District locations by the end of 2012. ESD $450,000
City of North Tonawanda Design and Construction of Erie Canal Kayak Launches
The City of North Tonawanda will design and construct kayak launches and way-finding signage at three locations along the Erie Canal. The proposed project will advance the City’s recently updated Local Waterfront Revitalization Program by enhancing public access to the waterfront and expanding water-dependent recreation opportunities. RUS Industries, Inc. Management and Operations Training
RUS Industries, Inc. of Niagara Falls will train 30 workers in business management and quality systems, international standards organization standards, documentation, systems implementation, internal auditor, management review, advanced inspection equipment, and advanced machine tool programming. Town of Royalton Wastewater Engineering Study
The Town of Royalton will complete an engineering report to evaluate the Gasport Wastewater Treatment Plant. DEC $30,000
Village of Youngstown LWRP Update
The Village of Youngstown will update its Local Waterfront Revitalization Program adopted in 1989.The update will include a thorough review of new inventory, update waterfront revitalization program policies, comprehensive master plan amendments, revise zoning requirements, and consult with federal, state and local agencies on new policies and projects. Women’s Christian Association of Niagara, Inc. YWCA of Niagara Community Culinary Training
Center
Young Women’s Christian Association of Niagara, Inc. will expand their current kitchen facilities located in the City of Lockport. The award will fund demolition, asbestos abatement, implementation of energy conservation measures, and construction of a commercial kitchen training facility. HCR $158,167
Erie, Niagara Arts Services Initiative of Western New York Arts Access
The Western New York ‘Arts Access’ Program of ASI will ensure that arts and cultural programming is available to all community members. The program will provide Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program recipients of Erie and Niagara Counties with discounted and free tickets to cultural events and free transportation services to travel to them. Erie, Niagara Buffalo Niagara Convention Visitors Bureau Canadian Marketing Initiative
Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitor Bureau, Inc. received an award to focus on increasing the frequency of day trips and encourage overnight visits from the over eight million people in Greater Toronto and Southern Ontario. ESD $195,000
Erie, Niagara, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Orleans, Wyoming Catholic Charities of Buffalo NY, Inc. Lean Six Sigma and Technical Skills Training
Catholic Charities of Buffalo NY, Inc. will train 200 workers in Lean Six Sigma (an approach to process improvement), Accountability in Action, and Workforce Skills Development for Engaging Persons in Poverty.DOL $79,884
Genesee Jiffy-Tite Co Inc Facility Expansion and Equipment Purchase
Jiffy-Tite will expand its manufacturing facility and purchase new equipment. Jiffy-Tite will invest $12.5 million and create 100 jobs. ESD $633,200
Multiple Finishing Trades Institute of Western and Central New York Construction Trades Training Finishing Trades Institute of Western and Central New York of the Central, Finger Lakes, Western, Southern, Mohawk Valley and North Country Regions will train 100 workers in welding, abrasive blasting, coating, drywall finishing, painting and decorating, glazing, and industrial applicator apprenticeships.
