SCHOLARSIHP

Small businesses have borne the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic and the related governmental restrictions. With their hands tied, sadly many succumbed to the circumstances and were forced to close their doors. Many others have held on, but continue to struggle.

While a number of programs were put in place by various levels of government, governmental programs were not always the answer for “Main Street” businesses struggling for survival. “Real-world” repercussions from the restrictions, such as workforce, inventory, work-from-home, and new consumer habits only added to the challenges they’ve faced.

Momentum – The Business Growth Agency and Welke Customs Brokers USA have spearheaded the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce New Member Scholarship Program.

Through the sponsorship of the companies above, scholarships are now available for small businesses to take advantage of the services provided by the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce by becoming a member. Our sponsors understand that for many small businesses, a chamber membership fee is simply not a viable budget item right now, so the scholarship program was created to help.

Small businesses qualifying for the scholarship will receive their first year’s membership sponsored through the program. They will also be connected to a mentor from the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce, who will advise them on how to get the most out of their membership.

Small businesses must meet the following criteria to be eligible for a membership scholarship:

  • New member to the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce
  • Fewer than 10 employees
  • Located in Niagara County
  • Local ownership

Scholarships are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To take advantage of the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce New Member Scholarship Program, or for more information, e-mail elena@niagarachamber.org.
