NIAGARA FALLS — Leadership Niagara will host its 26th annual Leader of the Year awards luncheon on April 27 at the Conference & Event Center. Over 300 leaders from western New York and southern Ontario will be in attendance.
LN’s 31st Leader of the Year is John Percy, president and chief executive officer of Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation (NTCC). He was “chosen for his commitment to excellence and his contributions to tourism in our region,” LN president and chief executive officer Molly Anderson said.
Leadership Niagara will honor five people and organizations at the awards luncheon. They all “represent Leadership Niagara’s brand of transformational leadership and exhibit the organization’s core values of visionary leadership, excellence, regional partnerships, societal responsibility, diversity and inclusion and lifelong learning,” Anderson said.
Remaining awardees are:
— The Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda, Organization of the Year.
—Annemarie Bettino, Lifetime Commitment Award. Bettino, a graduate of the LN class of 1985, is the executive director of Youth Mentoring Services of Niagara County.
— Gay Molnar, Distinguished Alumna Award. Molnar, a graduate of the LN class of 1997, is the executive director of Aquarium of Niagara.
— Darius Myles, Emerging Leader Award. Myles, a graduate of the LN class of 2015, is president and chief executive officer of DMYLES Inc., a general contracting and construction firm.
The awards luncheon is chaired by two LN class of 2015 alumni: Chris Marra, vice president and senior branch manager at M&T Bank; and Susan Swiatkowski, director of marketing at The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls.
