NUSA Board Member Ken Franasiak, President & CEO of Calamar, Form Joint Venture with Mount Kellett to Develop Independent Senior Housing

Calamar forms JV with Mount Kellet

Calamar, a full service real estate organization with divisions in construction, development, property management and investment and financing announced today that effective as of April 7, 2014 it entered into a joint venture with funds managed by Mount Kellett Capital Management LP (“Mount Kellett”) a private investment adviser managing investments world-wide, including real estate.

The new joint venture will incorporate four independent living senior housing properties from affiliates of Calamar with an aggregate value of $50M.  Two of the properties are in Upstate New York and two are in the Midwest.  All four properties were developed by Calamar in the last five years and have occupancy rates in excess of 95%.  Calamar will continue to operate and manage the facilities. Simultaneously, the new joint venture will set out to develop similar projects throughout the Northeast and Midwest of the United States.

Kenneth M. Franasiak, President and Chief Executive Officer of Calamar, said, “We are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship and anticipate future opportunities together.  Mount Kellet brings a depth of global investing and real estate sector expertise to this new venture which will be a great catalyst for the development of high-quality, affordable communities for seniors across North America.”

SILENT AUCTION TO BENEFIT ISAIAH 61

100% OF THE PROCEEDS GOES  DIRECTLY TO ISAIAH 61

March 28, 2014 (NIAGARA FALLS, USA) – The White Party, a first-time fundraising celebration benefiting the 2014 Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival, will be held at The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls, on Saturday, April 26, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests are encouraged to wear their most creative white attire but don’t let that stop you dress for a night of great fun!

“The White Party is truly a celebration of the resurgence of our city featuring an evening of art, music, fantasy and seduction,” said Rick Crogan, Niagara Falls Music & Art Festival chairperson. “Walk our red carpet in style,” he said and stressed guests to please be tasteful while planning their clothing and accessories, as prizes will be awarded to the best dressed.

The evening includes gourmet food samplings from The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. Guests who arrive between 7 and 8 p.m. will be treated to complimentary hors d’oeuvres and champagne reception.

The evening’s entertainment will be provided by Randle & the Late Night Scandals and DJ Medison.  Te Monet and surprise performances .A silent auction will also be held, with 100% of the  proceeds benefiting the Isaiah 61 Project.

Tickets are available for $25 at the door or at Deal Realty, Pi Pastry,all Spiritually Rooted Locations and online at  www.festivalatthefalls.com. No one under 18 years old admitted. Must be 21 years old with ID to drink.
